Power Shifting

To advance justice and achieve our better future, we need to create space for all kinds of people to bring their lived experiences and ideas to our decision-making. It is just as important to hear from grocery clerks and firefighters as it is to speak to the president of the Chamber of Commerce, but we don’t often build those conversations into our routine practice or create space at decision-making tables. Leaders who are skilled at power shifting can open avenues for good ideas from across the community to flourish.
